SABINE BOOSTER STATION

Electrical installation of a new natural gas booster station

LOCATION

Many, LA

VALUE

$900,000

PROJECT DETAILS

DT Midstream has a significant presence in Many, Louisiana, through its Sabine Booster Station, which is integral to the LEAP (Louisiana Energy Access Project) pipeline system. This system facilitates the transportation of natural gas from the Haynesville shale to various demand markets, including liquefied natural gas (LNG) export terminals such as Sabine Pass.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

This project builds a scalable and reliable electrical infrastructure for current functionality and future growth. Over 2,000 feet of aluminum B-Line trays in 12″, 18″, and 36″ widths were installed with custom elbows, splice plates, and barriers, providing flexible cable management for expansion. A sitewide grounding grid and engineered lightning protection safeguard sensitive controls, offering a high safety margin against transient overvoltage.

The power distribution system includes medium- and low-voltage one-line diagrams for MCC-0201 and PDP-0300, with AIS-rated switchgear coordination, simplifying commissioning and preventative maintenance. Redundant control interconnects were added for compressors, pumps, and critical equipment, maximizing uptime with programmable logic and diagnostics. Self-regulating heater cables on exposed piping ensure freeze protection with minimal power consumption.

Energy-efficient LED fixtures with dusk-to-dawn controls reduce energy costs and improve safety. Underground duct banks and industrial-grade conduits provide long-term reliability and easy access for future cabling. These systems ensure robust performance, safety, energy efficiency, and scalability, supporting the facility’s success for years.
