PROJECT DETAILS
The Academy Creek WPCF RAS and UV Upgrades project will rehabilitate key treatment processes by installing an owner furnished UV disinfection system, completing plant piping modifications, and upgrading the return activated sludge facilities. Work includes all required accessories, piping, concrete, electrical, controls, instrumentation, gates, valves, supports, panels, and conduit, plus horizontal centrifugal chopper pumps and related appurtenances at the Brunswick treatment plant for improved reliability and process resilience.
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
White Electrical’s work on the Academy Creek WPCF RAS and UV Upgrades showcases our ability to deliver complex electrical improvements within an active wastewater treatment environment. At this Brunswick, Georgia facility, our scope supports both the installation of the new owner-furnished UV disinfection system and critical upgrades to the return activated sludge pump stations, helping modernize core treatment operations and improve long-term system reliability.
Our electrical package includes modifying the existing Dewatering MCC with new 600-amp and 400-amp breaker buckets and extending new power distribution feeders to RAS No. 1, RAS No. 2, and the UV building. The project also involves demolition of existing wall-mounted VFDs, associated feeders and conduit, removal of existing MCCs in the RAS buildings, and replacement of legacy infrastructure with new manual transfer switches, distribution panels, VFDs, surge protective devices, safety switches, and complete power and control wiring systems.
In addition, White Electrical is furnishing and installing the UV building distribution panel, panelboard, and transformer, along with site lighting, grounding, and fiber optic communications between the UV and RAS facilities. Supported by one-line diagrams, riser diagrams, panel schedules, and project specifications, this scope reflects a coordinated, full-system electrical solution built for performance, maintainability, and operational resilience.
