Electrical of St. Louis and White
Electrical, based in Atlanta. They
were recently honored with the 2008 Joint
Venture Award sponsored by the Federated
Electrical Contractors, a trade group of 33 major
electrical contractors performing more than $3.5 billion
in construction annually with offices in 60 cities in
North America, Europe and Asia.
The two companies were honored for teaming up on the
construction of two new concourse totaling 1600 feet in
length at Jacksonville International Airport in
Florida. Passengers who landed at JIA on May 6, 2008
were the first to see the new 100 ft - wide, 570-ftlong
concourse A., the first of the two opened. The
concourse features 160 feet of moving walkway,
restaurants, gifts shops, even a spa - and natural light
and circulation replacing what had been a dark and
dreary enclosure.
The Guarantee-White partnership
achieved zero safety incidents on the project while
logging more than 55,000 man-hours. The Joint Venture
Award also honors them for seamlessly fulfilling a 15%
minority-participation requirement and expediting
construction to complete both concourses ahead of
schedule.
